NBC News: Trump’s company will pay $1.6 million for tax fraud

A court in New York has ordered former President Donald Trump’s company to pay a $1.6 million fine for tax fraud, NBC News reported.

“Trump Organization has been fined $1.6 million for 15 years of ongoing tax fraud,” the network points out.

According to the report, prosecutors attributed the criminal act to the greed of top executives who carried out the illegal schemes.

Last December, a Manhattan jury found two Trump-owned companies guilty of tax fraud and falsifying business records. Trump Corp. and Trump Payroll Corp. were involved in a 15-year scheme to defraud U.S. tax authorities, according to the court. Both companies were found guilty on all counts. Trump or his relatives are not involved in the case, and law enforcement had no claims against them.
